Annie Robinson I am passionate about my work as a counsellor and the process of therapy. I bring diverse experiences from earlier careers, my own family experiences and my life interests. I love the ‘great outside’. Above all, I enjoy making connection, and place great value on relationships. I work as a generic (any theme) individual counsellor. My approach is called ‘Integrative’ which means that it combines key ideas and techniques from the major counselling and psychotherapy traditions. I call myself a ‘Relational Integrative’ therapist, placing great value on developing a trusting, collaborative therapeutic relationship, which of course is confidential. Relationally, I will focus on picking up key threads from the dynamics of our interactions to help the two of us unpack potentially useful information about you.

Annie has considerable experience as a counsellor, working locally in private practice since 2003. She has also worked as a tutor/lecturer for counselling training courses at the Universities of Bristol and then Newport. In addition to her experience from independent practice she has experience working in University student counselling services and with Cruse Bereavement Care, where she often worked with parents grieving from child and conception losses.

Annie is a signed up member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and is actively involved with local professional networks, currently as chair of CAPPP (Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Private Practice). She receives regular professional supervision for her therapeutic work.

Trained at The University of Bristol (BACP accredited diploma, 2003), Annie later converted to an MSc in counselling (2009). She has undertaken subsequent professional development, including training in Couples Counselling, and a two years part-time study completing a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Embodied Relational Therapy, a type of Body Psychotherapy (2008).
